After graduating number one in his class from Bellarmine College Preparatory High School, a high-profile school in San Jose, California, Steve entered the Jesuit Order. After eleven years in seminary he left to resume his career in Education.
Steve's endless energy and passion for teaching has made him a popular high school teacher for thirty-six years. He taught at Jesuit High in Sacramento, CA and Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland, CA before leaving to open a high school on the central coast of California.
In 1982, and newly married, Steve and his wife, Patt, moved to San Luis Obispo, California to help open Mission College Preparatory. As Assistant Principal his responsibilities included fundraising, student recruitment, Director of Student Activities, Director of Admissions, and Athletic Director. Students called Mr. Saso the "heart and soul" of their high school.
Steve returned to his alma mater, Bellarmine College Prep., in 1987. For twenty-one years on student evaluation forms, ninety percent of Steve's students rated him an Excellent Teacher. He recently retired as a high school educator, but not from teaching.
Steve owns and operates his own tutorial business Saso High School Prep. He offers programs to assist middle-school students for high school academics in math & English, and HSPT® preparations to increase students’ chances of acceptance into the Catholic high school of their choice.
Steve, along with his wife Patt, is an author and national speaker. In 1989, they founded Saso Seminars & Counseling Services, an inspirational organization committed to assisting parents in raising responsible children.
